ABOUT ELKE VANOOST
Elke Vanoost is a filmmaker based in Brussels. Her work straddles the line between documentary and fiction.
In 2017, Elke graduated from Luca School of Arts (campus Schaerbeek). Her graduation film "Croisé'' won the award for best student short film at Film Fest Ghent. Croisé tells the story of a chance encounter between two strangers in different life stages.
Her second project, the documentary 'X' explores what it means to be a woman in our current society. ‘X’ premiered at cultural center Roma in Antwerp on Women's Day, March 8, 2020.
Elke's work tackles complex topics such as mental health and discrimination. Despite the heavy themes, her films are characterised by their hopeful tone and vibrant colours. She always seeks humor and poetry within the challenges her characters face.
